Jazz Neophytes
"Dr. Dave's" own easy listening jazz band performed in the season of 2001-2002. This quartet played popular jazz standards, such as Ain't Misbehavin', In My Solitude, It Don't Mean a Thing, My Funny Valentine and Tequila. The band, consisting of guitar, saxophone, bass and percussion, this crowd pleasing band was a favourite at night clubs and private parties. It played for an extended period at the Rainbow every Wednesday afternoon from 5 to 7 pm.

Ricky Roy's Virtual Swing Band
This fun band headed by Ricky Roy with Dr. Dave on guitar plays at the Casino du lac Lemay Gatineau (Hull) in the Salon Royale Fridays and Saturdays with a strong accent on the swing thing as well as other musical territory.

Brian Downey Big Band
The Brian Downey Big Band is a 16 piece swing orchestra that performs
at high profile venues and private parties in the Ottawa-Carleton
region, such as the Museum of Civilization, the Tulip Festival, the
Congress Centre, Chateau Laurier and Westin hotels, etc. The material
includes many Count Basie and Duke Ellington standards, and jump
tunes. As a member of this fine orchestra, "Dr. Dave" provides solid
rhythm and tasteful solos. Standard instrumentation includes double
bass, four trumpets, five saxophones - all of whom are soloists, and
three trombones. Local jazz diva Francis Gould completes the band,
providing scintillating vocals. Swing dancers of all ages swear by

The Maria Hawkins Band
The Maria Hawkins Band is a quintet that plays Blues, R&B, and Rock
with a hard driving, audience pleasing intensity. Maria Hawkins,
Ottawa's "Queen of the Blues" delivers strong, sultry blues vocals.
In addition to providing scintillating guitar playing, "Dr. Dave",
who is now involved in other music projects, served as the band's

The Lap Band, featuring Billy Mitchell
The Lap Band is a quartet that performs soul-stirring, hip-shaking
renditions of classic Soul, R&B and Funk songs that are sure to
please the most discriminating of audiences. This band opened for
Burton Cummings at Kingston's Riverfest this year.
The versatile members of the Lap band includes Doctor" Dave Foster,
on guitar, Steve Trecarten on saxophone, and Brian Downey on drums.
This quartet's show is always well received at night club venues, and
the guests at private parties and events are sure to be wearing out
